Local #8 Smoker Saturday March 20th
122 members showed up for the smoker and everyone went home with a door prize exept those that couldn't stay till the end of the drawing. It took Bill Bonlender, Joel Mootz and Kevin Kroll 3,1/2 hours to read of all the names and give out the prizes, so thanks to them and the rest of the executive board for a great event. And thanks to all that attended. See you next year and watch for info on the anual ball game, June 27th.

1st local #8 Fisherie
Feb.27, 2010 10:00am till 4:00pm. On Pewaukee Lake (weather permitting)
Meet at the DNR boat launch off highway E, on the west side of the lake, we will be staight out from there.
The fisherie was a success, aprox 30 people showed up and we had as many as 21 tip ups in the water. The rules of the fisherie were to follow DNR rules so the 32" muskie that Bill Bonlender caught did not count but it was fun to see! Al Fischer an able angler with his jig poles took the $50.00 prize for biggest fish with one of his many 7" perch. Not good fishing by any standard but it was fun to be out there!
For every 6 meetings a Local #8 member attends in a calender year they will have one month of union window dues paid for by #8.

Get involved in your communitee, go to common council and planning commition meetings and push for more work going union masonry.
You can make a difference!
|
| One of our biggest challenges right now is in the restoration area. Downtown Milwaukee is awash with non-union building restoration companies doing the work that our PCC members should be doing. If you are on or near a job with caulking or patch work going on don't be afraid to ask if they are signatory, and let your field represenative know. |
