Safer at Home

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

We are seeing the spread of COVID 19 throughout the United States, including cases in the State of WI.  Our Brothers and Sisters daily routines are ever-changing.  We are working with the Wisconsin State Building Trades, made up of 15 Construction Trades Unions including the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, to ensure a safe work environment for our members.  The Construction Industry is releasing recommended guidelines for proper job site hygiene from the North American Building Trades Union (NABTU) and The Center of Construction Research and Training (CPWR).  I also recommend the guidelines from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services.  Here are the links to the organizations referred to above, as well as links to our International website:

OSHA has also issued guidelines in regards to COVID-19.

Governor Tony Evers has implemented the "Safer at Home" order to start on Wednesday, March 25th, 2020.  Along with the governors from other states, Governor Evers has deemed the construction industry as an essential business.  This means that construction projects will continue to go on.

I would advise you to take this virus seriously by practicing social distancing as best as possible on the job site and in your travels home to your family.  It is also recommended you take your clothes off when you get home and wash them to help further protect from the virus.

The health and safety of our members and their families are of a great concert to your Field Representatives, Training Coordinators, and District Council Director.  If you have any questions or concerns with job site social distancing, safe practices, according to the CDC, or other guidelines pleas contact your Field Representative
